My mother collected nativity scenes. All of her kids (there are 7 of us) would add to our parents collection over time. My mother passed last year and I know that there is one that is still coming to me. They are beautiful. I have a few at my home too. There are some that I keep out all year.

I have several, given to me by my daughter who has traveled the world ( during her time in the US Army and as a civilian); and has lived abroad since 2015. They were hand crafted in their respective countries.
🇵🇪 Peru: a teeny tiny set that fits in the palm of your hand. The figures are hand painted with amazing detail. Made of clay I believe.
🇪🇹 Ethiopia: primitive set that fits into a manger/box that is covered with woven cloth. The figures are made from organic materials-twigs, seeds, etc. with bright scraps of cloth for wise men turbans
🇹🇭 Thailand: all figures are made of delicately painted celadon and have a distinctive Asian look
Can't put any of them out because of devil-kitten. Lol. Maybe next year.

@JFD12 Really beautiful! When you bought the one from QVC did it come with that mirror surround or is that your own touch? It is wonderful.
The one your husband made has the added advantage of being something from someone you love. My grandmother had her nativity on a bookcase in her living room and I used to study and admire it all throughout my childhood.
When she passed my mom got it, and kept it for me. It originally had chalk figures which chipped, cracked and otherwise failed to live up to the ravages of time. I found the perfect figures from a company called Landi and now I stare at the beautiful creche in my own living room and feel like my beloved Nana is still celebrating Christmas with me.

@JFD12 Just stunning. They both are beautiful but the one your husband made is special. I have the manger that my dad built when he and mom were first married in 1947. I treasure it. It is always the focal point in my Christmas decorating.
Enjoy your Christmas.![]()

@781Florist The mirror surround is from Valerie Parr Hill H-208727. I have the gold one that I have behind my dad's manger. Perfect add on. It looks nice. There are three colors left. They are on sale too. Good luck.

They are beautiful!
I like how you arranged the figures in the first one in a circle. I've never seen it that way and it makes it even more stunning.

I have a nativity that I put under my tree every year. My mom did too. Grew up with one under the Christmas tree.

I no longer set up a full nativity set, but instead use this figurine that was my mothers....I like the simplicity.
