Re: My lanterns have arrived

The ivory is nice, but lacks 'depth'. I like the bronze best because they have the antiquing and it really takes them to a richer level.

Well packed, same candles as in all their indoor/outdoor lanterns (kind of plastic looking, but inside the lanterns you don't notice it so much).

I had a full set of the black on check hold, but I will not be getting those. I was less than thrilled with the shiny finish on these, and the darker the color the more noticeable it is (to me). The ivory hides it well, and the bronze is more of a matte finish.

I don't have an issue with the size of the candles being either too short or too tall in the lanterns.

If I had to pick my favorite, I think it would be the small ones, but I love them in groups of three. I hope Luminara continues to branch out and make more unique lanterns like these.

What size did you get in the ivory?  I bought one in the ivory in 19" and I hope it isn't too wide for the place I want to use it.

I had all three in black ordered, then cancelled because they looked too top heavy for outside with the blustery winds that come through here, so I rebought one black to go with my black wrought iron furniture. It's a bit shiny, too.

Mine are coming from Ontario via brown pony express with a handover to the Usps wagon train. Everything coming from west coast takes much longer than east coast even though it's fewer miles.

@Nomore

I got the 19 inch in ivory. I have to say that after seeing all the sizes up close and in person now, I think the 17" has much more use potential in my home. I love them in groups of three, all three sizes, but that takes a big space to display properly.

When going around last night and tucking them in different places just to get some ideas, the 19 and 21 are really too big in my home, for many uses. The 17 gives me the most versatility.

My mom had ordered a set of three black for outside on her steps as well, but cancelled them too, for the same reason you did. She felt that with the high winds we get out here in the country, little to block them, that they would be easily broken. We have raccoons that like to come up close to her house late at night too, and the will tip over bird baths, tear down bird feeders etc. So she thought they simply wouldn't fare well outdoors between the wind and the raccoons!

She also got all three sizes in bronze for indoors though, and they look great as well.

Re: My lanterns have arrived

If anyone is worried about them being top heavy, take them off of the pedestals and just place the lantern on the ground.

Then you can use the pedestals inside as a candle holder!

Re: My lanterns have arrived

They look beautiful! My slate is out for delivery. Bronze is on waitlist. Will be my first luminara item so I'm anxious to get it.
