My dh is very, very handy also! He has rebuilt his classic cars to show quality. He is handy around the house. He's saved us a heck of a lot of money through the years. We prefer to do things ourselves. At least its done right. Smile

My late husband could do anything. People would ask me, "How does he know how to do this or that"? I asked him.

He said, "Just tell them I go get a book or look on line. But mostly it's because I'm not afraid to try".

There you have it. Ladies. You can probably do some of the things yourself. If you fail, don't give up, try again.

So true.

That is what I loved about my Dad. One year near Halloween my boyfriend and I wanted to do to a party as Bonnie and Clyde. I could not find "the look" I wanted. So my wise Dad said to see if I could find a pattern and we could sew it. So I found a pattern and we bought the fabric and he even bought a sewing machine. Well, neither of us had ever sewed before much less used a pattern. But in a weekend we put our two heads together (he was the analytical portion of the project) and made one outstanding outfit.

painting is something my hubs just can't do - he gets paint everywhere. We have to pay to get the house painted.

They are installed and working like a dream - love them. a worthwhile project for anyone who can make a square box from wood then Home Depot sells the hardware to install them.
