@Patriot3    it is a Dwarf  Japanese maple... they grow really well here in the PNW. Great for areas you do not want plants to get too big.  In the winter it is bare of leaves.  In the summer have a red leaf as in this picture... in the fall  golden leaves... I prune mine so it has more shape.
