I have an old pair of leather gloves lined with cashmire that were my mom's.  They are in perfect condtion but I found that one of the gloves has been attacked by moths and much of the lining is gone.  Should I rip out the remaining lining?  Both gloves?  They will no longer be very warm but they are so pretty and the leather is so soft. I hate to discard them....

That's a shame; I love good quality gloves.  It it were me, I would actually rip out both linings and wear them as unlined leather gloves.  I've actually had trouble finding good unlined leather gloves lately; they all seem to have some kind of lining.

I would be interested if anyone has another solution.

I would rip out the lining and then buy a pair of fairly thin glove liners in your choice of fabric content. Liners come in a variety of fabrics...cashmere, silk, wool and assorted blends. I would tend to buy a washable liner myself, for instance a silk glove liner. Thin, warm and washable, too.

With having a removable glove liner, that would make the gloves more versatile. Wear them with or without the liners depending on how cold it is.

I never heard of glove liners but I live in a warm climate.  That's an excellent suggestion.

To me this is the perfect option...buy a set of liners.

I do have a pair of knit silk glove liners which is used to wear with unlined gloves but don't anymore.  If you do go this route, only wear them when you know you won't be taking your gloves off for a while.  Believe me, you do not want to attempt to answer your phone by removing your leather glove, and then peeling off your glove liner and stashing both items somewhere;  that is one missed call.
