I have owned microfiber sheets, hated them. After a couple of times of using them, washing them...I donated them. I prefer a cotton percale.

DURABILITY AND CARE

A high thread count will be much more durable than a low thread count linen. Keep in mind low-quality cotton linens will more than likely pill and grow less comfortable over time.

Many laundry professionals believe that the benefit of investing in quality cotton sheets is as time goes by they are easier to care for and maintain durability.

Microfiber linens achieve their durability from the tightly woven material. The best advice here is to choose quality microfiber linens. Less quality microfiber linens become worn and less durable, especially with daily washing.

I own a few sets. I actually like the thinner, lightweight ones more than the heavier sets I have. For me the thicker microfiber sheets are less breathable and they don't feel good against my skin. The thin light sheets are definitely breathable and more comfortable to sleep with. I also don't care for the 'brushed' microfiber sheets. I feel like they cling to me so I put them on my bed inside out so the silky side is what I sleep on and I can move around easier that way, too.

I had some years ago and got rid of them. To hot. I felt like I was sleeping in a baggie. I don't need more heat where I live.

We like them.  I do find them warm, though, so I prefer to use them in early winter, until I've gotten acclimated.  Then I like all cotton.  They are fabulously soft and wear like iron.

I got a set of free microfiber sheets with a mattress I bought about five years ago.  I used them one night and then donated them.  They don't breathe and made me so hot.  I didn't like them at all.

I love the 400 thread count 100% cotton sheets from Cuddledown.

I love them. I find them perfect for me. If anything mine are too cool so I don't use them in the winter switching over to microfleece for the winter. The microfiber sheets are soft, silky, smooth, cool, wrinkle-free, care-free, and just about perfect for me. Some people confuse microfiber and microfleece, but they're vastly different products.

@gardenman   I wasn't confusing microfiber with microfleece.  I've never had microfleece sheets, but the microfiber made me way too hot.
