@tansy --I have never been to the Monroe store but know it is huge. DD has a good friend that works there. I don't drive anymore so going there is not a thing. Can get to Redmond on the bus and hopefully, by the end of this year we will be living in Redmond. then LOOK out Ben!!!!![]()

@SilleeMee --I think that is the answer. Most everything in these stores come from China---am sure many stores will close. But just thinks of the billions and billions of tariff $$ coming in!!!!😏

I lived all over the eastside, @wagirl, but Redmond was where the sons went to school. It's changed so much. Have you been on the train there? I think it will take you to Alderwood.

The pottery store owner told me that some of her suppliers from overseas are refusing to sell to her b/c of the tariff situ. She said many are European based supply houses. She is very upset b/c she can't make, sell her pottery and pay her bills.

Hobby Lobby has lots of stuff for fall and of course, Christmas. Michaels is awful in my area

Michaels purchased Joann Fabrics' inventory. Perhaps your store is in chaos because new products will be coming in and they have orgnizational issues. I'd expect some remodeling changes soon.

@tansy --I have lived on the eastside since 1975. Started out in Redmond for 10 years then moved to Woodinville in 1986 and am still here. Looking forward to going back to Redmond. No, the light rail doesn't go to Alderwood yet, but yes, DD and I rode the new extension round trip from Redmond to Bellevue and back just after it opened in May. OMGosh--yes it has changed --so many apt buildings in every direction. Used to be a po- dunk rural place with lots of land and 2 way roads-- DD's new job is across the street from the library and we will move around that area too, so she can walk to work. No cars in our family anymore so depend on the bus-- but very easy to do that in Redmond.

@timeless --I would like to think that is the reason, but sadly I think it will be closing--the building itself is a dump! I went there in the 70's when it was the Treasure House and then turned into a Michaels--and no remodeling has happened in maybe 25 years or more---had big, noisy air cleaning/blowing machines attached to the ceiling with huge vent pipes --not sure if the roof leaked or what but it was a mess.

@Kachina624 wrote:@wagirl. Is it possible that most people have bought their decorative supplies and the store is not restocking because it's almost time to put out the Christmas stuff? You got inspired too late.
That's what happened to me last year with Micheals. I waited too late. This year...late again... so I drove to the next shopping center which had a Hobby Lobby. It was still well stocked. Although I like Micheals and have probably shopped there more, I have noticed they do shut down their seasonal products quite early, imo.

I was in Hobby Lobby yesterday and the store was full of goodies as always.
