Mercury Glass Spheres

I purchased these spheres "As Is" and I really like them except for the black rubber ring at the bottom. I planned to put them on a pedestal candle holder. The black ring at the bottom takes away from the look on the glass pedestals. Anyone have any simple ideas on how to cover the ring? I don't want anything fussy.

Maybe little wreath rings?? They are available lots of places and you can change them out with the seasons. I think it would look pretty.

Why not just remove the black covers? I have those and think they would work fine without the covers.

I have mine on pedestals, and I just removed the rubber covers on the bottom. Unless you plan to keep them outdoors, you don't need to use the rubber caps. Enjoy them!
