I get my hair towels at TJMaxx.  You can get the wraps or the actual towel.  They are a perfect size and thin.  That size became too small for a body towel and too big for hands, so most did away with that size.

I was always on the look out for those kind of towels when I had dogs.

I ran across some cotton towels at the Dollar General of all places.

Yeah, me too!

I find that vintage towels (like from the 1940's through the 1960's) were much smaller than what we are used to today. Even some lines from the 80's and 90's were much more reasonable in size than the huge things they think we all need today.

I have noticed that some expensive lines of towels have hand towels that are simply huge, and might qualify as a medium size towel.

For wrapping hair after the shower, I find my vintage bath towels to be the right size and weight and what was then considered a full size bath towel is now more of a medium size and weight, and very functional for many things.

A few years ago, I bought a pack of 6 medium-size towels from Amazon. But for my hair, waist-length, I've had Turbie-Twists for years, from QVC, and believe it or not, I'm still using the first 2 (of 6), and they work fine. Maybe if my hair was thicker, it might be a problem.

I noticed they are carrying them again. Also on Amazon, but the deal is better here.
