Mahogany

I have two mahogany head boards (twin) that I grew up with and want to sell. I really know nothing about the cost of mahogany or antiques.They were from the French Quarter in the late 1940's. If anyone could give an idea of what they might be worth it would be helpful. Or, what would be the best way to research the value so that if I get an offer from an antique dealer what would be fair.
