The other winter thread had the icy pastels that draw me this time of year, and this one is more cozy-rugged.

This room has that intimate wood-to-stone ratio that always seems enveloping and protective from icy blasts.

Wonder if that low sun coming through the trees and roaring fire would keep this outdoor room warm enough...

Gorgeous massive fireplace balancing room-height windows.

This mountainside living room is sort of 'open- exhilarating' , instead of "enclosing"--   could never tire of that view...

Textures and candlelight make this room so rich.

Love the simple seasonal coffee table vignette in this family room from "oursouthernhome" blog--

The mantel in the same family room kept the handsome deer from Christmas, I presume, but surrounded with a neutral, wintry setting of candles and evergreens.

Great spot to curl up and watch the snow fly...

Nice stone and wood in the first three photos.

Love the green velvet pillow in the first photo, looks great in the foreground.

Beautiful woodsy mountainy view in the second photo.

The fourth photo has a great view.  Would prefer a more rustic, less modern looking interior - the white walls, couch, and rug are stark and reflect too much sunlight, and the windows and frames look a bit industrial.  Although the two airy chairs aren't a favorite, I think they are a good choice there because they don't block the view the way solid-backed chairs would.

I like this winter coffee table vignette too.  And it struck me funny.  Instead of a real vase of fresh flowers, there's a framed picture of a vase of flowers.  I wonder if in the summer they have a real vase of fresh flowers and a framed picture of pine cones and evergreens.

I love the picture that has the stone fireplace and the rough overhead wood beams!  So cozy looking and would sure feel good right about now!!

Ha, ha, @QVCisFun --  cute!    I bet they don't reverse it in summer, if only because people don't seem to yearn for pinecones and evergreens in warm weather, but there does seem to be a year-round desire for flowers of every kind.  That mini-portrait is an amusing touch...

That outdoor space is beautiful, but in the winter it would never be warm enough for me. All of the rooms look cozy and inviting. Even the more contemporary one is as inviting as contemporary gets.

I truly love every room pictured. They are all cozy, warm, inviting, and pretty IMO.

I don't know if this is just a corner of a cozy loft-studio, or if it is a spacious bedroom, but I love it either way.
