@smoochy,  My English great-Grandad emigrated there, although I never got to visit him there-  he died while I was still tiny.  Although not from there, I have a real affection for your area, and respect for the long tradition of design and devotion to the arts of Grand Rapids.

Oops, my fault--   to your point, @shoptilyadropagain ,  here's the rest of the family room which I should have posted before-- you can see it has a very "floppable" sectional for relaxation....

@mspatmac,  if you check the first photo of the family room, it looks like they put the TV over the fireplace.  That is never my favorite place for a TV, but maybe the sectional is far enough away that viewers don't have to crane their necks!

Jean Stoffer was apparently first known for her fabulous kitchen designs, but now she has branched out and does whole houses in her particular "clean but comfortable" style.  I love this "army" or "oil slick" green, but might be too dark for many:

A few other examples.  I just think she does such a nice job within her chosen style:

I love that she did this moody, non-cliche sunroom.  If you go to her website and check her portfolio, you can see how she has beautifully renovated some of the Victorians and other vintage houses in Grand Rapids.

@Oznell

I missed it, me bad!  I am not a fan of over the fireplace TV's especially on that beautiful stone.  To live in that beautiful home I would deal with it.

This is so beautiful! Very unexpected from the outside. Love all of the large windows and that huge fireplace, perfect for Midwest Winters!!!!! I would change out some of the light fixtures though, but other than that -simply gorgeous!

Gorgeous home and very well done inside and out.

I agree with @CANDLEQUEEN ..the only thing I would change is some of the overhead lighting...other than that I love the colors used and architecture.

For me this home is lacking warmth in furnishings and is too stark.  I do like the idea of a window seat and window in the hallway, the velvet couch is a nice touch.  I like privacy so would have some type of window treatments.  The house has a lovely exterior.
