I was in HL the other day, and they sell Mirage votives in packs of 2 there as well as the Mirage remote.  They are the same size as this Luminara votive, the battery life is better, AND you can set the Mirage timer to any amount of time.  I know the flame technology is different, but considering it's inside a lantern, I think it would partially mask the less-genuine look of the flame.  So, if you really love this lantern, (which isn't really a Luminara Lantern, because the votive isn't attached) you can use the Mirage candles as an alternate or replacement for the votive that is included. Or, of course, you could just go to any home store and buy a much cheaper lantern that you like and make your own.

For the most part, this is what I have done for lanterns. I get much more choice in lanterns (Hobby Lobby has so many pretty ones) and styles/sizes, I buy just the texture, color, brand of candles I want, and mix and match them in many different ways, usually for much less than a Q lantern package set.

Oh, and I LOVE Mirage candles, especially the ones Q has had. I love the programmable timers and longer battery life. I keep hoping Candle Impressions will make a lot more Mirgae in different textures and colors.

I just ordered the grey & slate.  I have a hunch they will come out with the other sizes in the Hudson style later on this fall.  I loooove the grey & would get a larger size if offered.  The red, cream & blue would be fun but an extragant buy for me.  I think there are limited quantities which is why you can't pre-order now.  Good luck to those who want them; I wouldn't wait to order.

Definite warning about battery life on these.

I have some Luminara smaller votive type candles that I picked up at a gift shop (they are rustic/primitive) and two things I have had to watch.

First, the flame doesn't work/move well on many of them. I am buying those in person, so I can easily try them out and be sure I like the flicker first. I do have to wonder if that is because of the various 'dust' and additions they add to these to give them the primitive look.

Second, the battery life is very short, as mentioned by other posters already. So if putting in an out of the way place, be prepared to change batteries more often than in the bigger candles.

The primitive votives I've picked up elsewhere were $29 each, so the price of this TSV isn't bad at all.

Not sure if I'm going to buy or not, but Thanks for much @dryheat for finding us the item number!

@Mominohio, I have the Mystique branded votives (they are the same as the Luminara, and made of resin) and I have noticed that the flame movement is not the same among the 3 tall ones that I have.  The inside wire that suspends the flame can be moved a tiny bit up, down, or sideways, and sometimes that helps a slow-moving to almost stationary flame to start moving a little better.

I think the little TSV lantern would look nice with your Hampton lanterns, by the way.

Just went and looked at the video they have posted, and while I'd like the bronze, I gotta say, I'm not impressed with the candle. After having these great primitive Luminara votives, those in the TSV just look cheap and plastic to me.

Does it say anywhere if these can be used outdoors?

Also, any height given?

I'd like a red, white, and blue combo for the summer, but that would be quite a bit of money!

I got the Luminara Hampton lanterns in both sizes and this would compliment that as a smaller piece (I think it's smaller) for a grouping of 3, so still considering.

It's 11" high and for indoors only.

I wonder if it's indoor only because of the votive.  Maybe the votive doesn't have drain holes like the outdoor pillars.  My Mystique votives do not have holes but are made of the outdoor safe resin material.

@BornToShop, Glad you got them and you know you'll have to review them here!  I do think the slates match.

Did any of you ladies also notice that at the bottom of the TSV page that a question was asked about the blue, red and green colors? That they will NOT be available  tomorrow to order. Was wondering if an advanced order would be offered?  I am interested in the red for the holidays. They seem to be the perfect size for a fireplace mantle.

I think there will be larger sizes in the colors offered for tomorrow later on in the fall  I also agree with you the r/w/b lanterns will be an advanced order event.  Can't wait to see these presented tomorrow!

My rechargeable Luminara votives glow from the inside as well as from the flame on top. It's lame that the one included in this lantern doesn't glow from within.

I just bought the coral and slate....AND used the Q card for easy payments.  I pay off my credit cards every month but it's nice to spread out the payments as long as we have that option (response to another topic about easy pays). There aren't too many places that give you the option to spread out your payments so when the option is there, I'll use it.

I think this will be a great size and will fit well inside my house......

Oh, no, not Lanterns.  I have no will power with them.  I'll be living under a tree if I buy anymore, DH doesn't share my love for them.

@lucymo  What do you think of these?  They are small enough to fit on my kitchen hutch, and the bronze will go perfectly with the hutch, so guess what, I bought two.  I am not crazy about the shape, but it is so difficult to find anything that will fit on a 14" shelf lamp/lantern wise.  The colors Lumina brought are nice.
