Years ago I purchased the one that had the candles fixed to the bottom of the lantern. A few weeks ago I saw where they now make them with removable candles. I thought, shoot, I would prefer that so I could wash the glass inside. I was blessed today when the candle died in my lantern, not to be risen again. I got my screwdriver out and undid the screws, tossed that candle (plastic, ugh) and put in one of my wax luminaras. Looks great !! Clean glass inside, too. Heart

Luminara made changes based on feedback.  Let us change the candles.

@pattypeep.  Give us ladies a screwdriver and we can revamp anything.   ;-).     I  redid an old glass cloche that I picked up at a flea market years ago.  It's  decorations were old and not my style so I took the bottom off.  It's about 18" tall and is great for inside and out on a warm summers night.  I change the color candle with the season.

Enjoy your "new" lantern.   Merry Christmas

I've done the same thing!

I have a love/hate relationship with those plastic candles. They are made that way to go outdoors, and I love using some of my lanterns outside, but too many of them indoors and the plastic becomes quite noticeable to me.

I’ve done it too ! Nice to be able to put what ever we want in the lanterns 😃

No more Luminaras for me. I have two lanterns and four candles that stopped working. They are way too expensive for that. So disappointed.

I love Luminara lanterns and even more now that's it's easy to change out the candle.  Sometimes, I don't want a candle in the lantern, other things are nice for a change.  I have a lit finial in one  right now, or maybe a snowman, tree and lots of options.  I removed the candles anyway but it's easier if  they're made to remove.
