Everyone to their own kicks, but I can't get out of my mind this house was built in the 1790's and what was done to it.

I'd rather see it restored and decorated in that era.

I think the home fits Lori. She has created a space that reflects her personality and that is what we all should do.

It may not be my personal taste but it is hers and she apparently loves it.

@Foxxee undoubtedly restoration (with modern amenities) could be lovely, but that's not what I imagine would be Lori--   Haven't looked to see what she did, but I will.

Grew up in central PA -   Lived in a brick home built in the late 1800's.   Saw it about 25 years after my mother died.  Redone, but not particularly beautiful.

Yes, Pennsylvania has some beautiful old houses, quite a few of the very old made from stone like Lori's.

In some areas you see beautiful restorations, but so many little towns are sad relics of what they were.   Any sort of authentic restoration is a labor of love with lots of research and lots of time and money, too.

Not my taste at all but it totally suits Lori.  I do love her outdoor pool space...that's beautiful!

Wow that is one busy home. I'm glad I'm not the one cleaning all that stuff and that white fur rug in hallway at top of stairs is a tripping hazard. Not my style but congratulations to her for having a home she loves.

Re: Lori's PA Home

The decor fits her but it doesn't go with the era of the home. Those who may have seen the New England based HGTV program about restoring very old, historic homes, know how it can and should be done. They're not building any more 200-300+ year old homes, and after all those years history should count at least a little bit.

Several people have commented on restoration of the home.  That's not everyone's goal.  It seems Lori loved the area and the "bones" of the home.  But she wanted the house to be her own even if it doesn't pay homage to the past.
