Re: Longaberger baskets back in production and on QVC

I guess I have about 20 from the early 90's that I would purchase when my neighbor had her parties. I certainly don't need anymore. Hope, though, that they are nice and a new generation will enjoy them.

I did not like the fact that for over $53.00 the handle on the pie basket is stationary.

I think the secondary market is saturated with the original baskets selling for a fraction of that price, but no doubt David will sell the heck out of them.

Not really interested in baskets as I have all that I need, including at least one Longaberger where I keep my bills. Baskets are one item I would never pay full price for.

I laughed at that because it's true - David could sell ice to an Eskimo, as they say. I bet David will tell stories and sell all the baskets.

I also laughed at the next part because my mom also has a basket for bills and I believe it is a Longaberger.

I hope they can make a go of it.  I always like to see local businesses thrive.

I will not be buying though, I have never been a big basket person and we are trying to downsize.

In my area you can buy Longerberger baskets in lots of 20+ for less than $50.  It always makes me sad since I remember the prices.

Re: Longaberger baskets back in production and on QVC

I have a few Peterboro baskets I got from the Q through the years...I like them a lot and use them.  Only two Longaberger baskets, from parties I attended.  I use one lidded one for a sewing basket.  I also like those two.

A couple months ago I got tired of seeing my loaf of bread sitting on the counter, so I went to Peterboro's website and bought a pretty bread basket.  Now my bread is stored in an attractive basket on top of the microwave.

I don't really need any other baskets....but I would be open to purchasing if it was one I had room for and had a use in mind for it.

I do like the look of baskets (in moderation!), and will periodically check the Q's website and see what they are offering!

I started collecting when my SIL was a consultant. Fortunately for me I started selling my huge basket collection in an auction site when I heard their pottery line was being outsourced. I have the 'Heirloom Ivory' USA still and it looks new, never saw a dishwasher. Fortunately for me that is the popular selection as I am still downsizing my 100 piece collection.

I wish the company and Q lots of luck. Those home parties were lots of fun.

I missed out on a garage sale that was selling a collection of these baskets for ten cents on the dollar. Kicking myself for not going. I only have two....a banana basket and a business card one.. Used to go to the parties, but felt I could not afford them. Then I found the Petersboro baskets on QVC and have some of them. They have held up very nicely.

I still have 2 of the ones they sold on Q years ago. I don't do as much with them as I used too. I think that fad has gone by the wayside.

I have quite a few of their baskets...purchased thru parties years ago...those parties were fun.  I use most of mine throughout the house.

I have been purging A LOT of stuff latey for a garage sale this summer, I might put a couple in the sale that I don't love....I know I won't get much out of them.

i love all the LB baskets, i have, but the q needs to offer liners and protectors, for them. Liners and protectors make the baskets more useful.
