Does anyone have a long narrow room in their home?
Before moving into my first apartment, the bedroom I had as a child & teenager was very long and narrow. It was quite a challenge to get 2 twin beds, dressers, and other furniture arranged in a way that worked. I bumped many a hip, shin, and knee just moving around the room. My current home does not have any long narrow rooms.
Here are a few photos of narrow rooms I found on the Internet. Looks like the owners made good use of the space available.
I like this one, but I would change the dark sofa to another color and use different artwork above it.
Another nice room. I would add some more color and window treatments.
A bit too much furniture & too many accessories for me.
This one is quite elegant. The high ceiling is beautiful. I would add some color to it.

Never experienced a long narrow room. These rooms are stunning. That last one is gorgeous.

While I am not a fan of long narrow rooms, I love big spacious rooms, the ones pictured are nicely furnished . However, I would probably put less in these rooms and decorate minimally..

I love these rooms shown, but I do not have any long narrow rooms. The rooms shown are pretty spacious too, so you don't get the feeling of them being so narrow!

At least one of the places I've lived tended to have all rectangular rooms. One of the rooms was very narrow and I didn't like it and rarely used it. The smallest room in that place, the dining room, was a square and I found I liked it best simply because it offered a different shape. I don't care for narrow rooms though they, like pretty much any shape room, can be made both comfortable and appealing. It seems that due to the foibles of most more modern construction, many rooms tend to be rectangles and I prefer a variety of shapes and sizes. Had I the wherewithal, I think I'd love an old house with all it's quirks, as long as all the systems had been redone before I moved in, so I didn't have to deal with them. I am not a 'rehab' maven or a DIY-er.

Really liked all of these rooms beautifully done.

These rooms are beautiful, but I would feel slightly claustrophobic in all but the LAST one. I think it's because of the high ceiling, position of the furniture, and beautiful VIEW, that I would love relaxing in it. 😊.

The 3rd room has way too much stuff in it for me. I think it would be fine if half the furniture was removed.
The other rooms look very nice...Narrow rooms are OK but are a bit difficult to furnish. I grew up in a narrow home and it was beautiful but not over furnished.
