My daughter is getting married next spring and wants a library-themed wedding. The venue lends itself well, with dark paneled walls, three fireplaces, lots of vintage charm. So far we are using books and candles for the centerpieces. Each table will feature one particular book. The books we are using are leather bound with ornately decorated spines. The favors will be bookmarks we are making by photographing the spines of the featured books, printing on good card stock and adding tassels. No actual books will be harmed in this process.
Any other ideas for the wedding? Need thoughts on invitations, save-the-date cards, table assignment cards, fireplace mantle decor, cake, etc. We are not wealthy, so inexpensive and/or handmade by us is important.

Very clever idea! Sorry, I don't have anything great to add but I bet you could find some ideas on Pinterest. Best wishes to all!

Thanks, FastDogWalker2! I've been stalking Pinterest for ideas and that has been helpful. I've discovered there are many creative people on the Q boards, so I am tapping into the brain trust here, too.

What a wonderful theme!
Place a card catalog on the guest book table. Fill the catalog with empty cards suitable for guests to use to write memories of this special day and/or best wishes to the couple. You might find a way to note the guest name & # for table assigment as well as using the card to write a note to the couple.
Scatter beautiful cups and saucers filled with candies, flowers or scented petals (I always want to drink tea in my posh library) on the mantels or tables. Or use a lovely tea pot with flowers for decor.
Book carts could be dolled up with tule and ribbons and used to hold drinks or plates and utensils if you are serving a buffet supper.

Odd theme for a wedding, IMO. Martha Stewart Weddings would be a good resource for you.

I wouldn't call it ""odd"". Different. Original. It sounds fun to me.
How did they choose the theme?
