Re: Let's Talk Kitchen Counter Stools

In my kitchen, I have two wooden, full-sized, high-back, swivel stools at my island. They are very comfortable. Even though I have a kitchen table, I generally eat and watch TV from my island.

I have pictures of mine on this thread:

I also have two of these on the side of the island.

After reading all the comments I decided on this look, too.

I found stools that were highback in the arrowback style that swivel. The seats can be upholstered for an upcharge and based on what you all are saying, comfort is necessary!

Three would be the max I could fit. 18" per seat would feel too tight wouldn't allow for room for the swivel.

Re: Let's Talk Kitchen Counter Stools

In 1978, my mom and I bought our first house and then we went to Ethan Allen and bought 2 heavy wood (probably mahogany) bar stools - with backs - that swivel. I'm still using them at my large kitchen center island. Most of the time, 2 are enough. 4 would be very crowded. Be sure to measure the height that you'll need - because they come in various heights. Mine are very comfortable.
