I've been doing the same thing.  Picking up "stuff" when I see it and especially if it's at a good price.  ILike you, it has nothing to do about her independence.  It's about not waiting till the last minute and trying to get as much as possible to help with the cost over months than a couple of weeks.

I use Hey Sunday brand of laundry sheets.  Made in Sweden, ships from Virginia.

HSN carries laundry detergent sheets. I've also seen them in my Wegman's store.

My daughter got started on the sheets  as her guy always poured to much detergent into machine so this was perfect for them.

Think any college girl or guy would really like using them ,so easy no suds overflowing from the machine which can occur for ones who are doing their own wash for the first time.

I would buy a few packages and give them as a send off gift to any college freshman.

You changed my thinking. I liked liquid detergent. So I could pour the liquid on any spots on the clothes.

BUT when "the fellows" do a load of wash, it is crazy how much liquid detergent they pour into the washer. The laundry tub still has lots of bubbles after the load is finished with 2 rinses.

After stressing not to use so much detergent,  I end up saying I will do the wash. Maybe that is their plan to begin with. I should buy the sheets and hide the liquid detergent.

@Mom2Dogs  The sheets that I bought were not perforated.  I had to cut them with scissors (or you can tear them, they tear easily).

I use them.  They work well and are much better for the planet.

I like the concept but wasn't sure how it actually got my laundry clean. So I went back to using Nellies.

I have not tried any, but did see some ad about 7 million less laundry plastic jugs to recycle.  Or at least offer refills instead of a new jug every single purchase.  I will have to try them.  I currently put my liquid detergent in a much smaller container.  (3 or 4 loads).

@wagirl    I used to use Nellies but I found they left my clothes crunchy.   I changed over to Esrth Breexe sheets over a year ago and I love them.  They also,leave your clothes very soft and no buildup from all the junk in regular detergent which  is more than half water and the rest  chemicals
