Nana5...Love both of your lanterns. They look so nice. Like the little bird on top too! Are those artificial bulb plants? Where did you find those?

Thanks, mallemo. That little bird is one of VPH mercury glass birds. Found them at the outlet last month.

Yes, those are artificial bulb plants and I have no idea where to find any more. I got these several years ago at a flower and craft store in the area. I've checked for them again and they are gone. When I ask about them, nobody knows where to get them. If I ever see any again, I will buy them in bulk because they are so much fun to use in decor (and so hard to find). I'll post another picture with some others that I got at the same place.

Re: Late Spring/Summer Lantern Ideas

How about a bird figurine, or other animal that you like that goes with your decor? You could place either floral, green, or twiggy branches behind the figurine for height, with the option of adding a mini light strand to the branches. It would be like making a mini vignette in your lantern.

ETA- like mallemo's suggestions in reply #1.

ETA- should've read the replies first. Nana5, great lantern ideas. Similar to what I was thinking.

Pottery Barn has sea shells in theirs. That made me think of starfish - looks like there is one in one if the pictures above.
