💡 Lamps Redux 💡

[ Edited ]

If you recall a few years ago, I purchased a (very) ugly lamp from Goodwill with good "bones" and turned it into something that I took to school.  It was one of the first items I brought home this year to teach during virtual learning.

This was my "temporary" classroom, broadcasting from my dining room.  I set this up in August and in June, it still looks like this.

I am thinking optimistically that I will (finally!) get a classroom.  Due to Covid, there were lots of restrictions about what could be in a classroom, so I thought I would aquire a few pieces this summer so that I will be ready to go if I have a classroom.

I found these lamps at Goodwill.  I removed the background of the picture so that you can get an idea of what they look like without any distractions.

Of course, I bought them with the idea that I would make them fabulous, without investing too much $$$ since in a school you never know what might get broken, stolen, or just "disappear."

I have some ideas in mind, but for fun, what would YOU do to bring them into 2021, with the consideration that they will be in a classroom?

I think I would make them either an ombre blue with each section a lighter shade of blue starting with dark blue on the bottom, and then an ivory shade, or I would make each ringed section a different color so it becomes a rainbow lamp.

Would love to see what you end up doing.

@cactusgal

How interesting!

The orange one I found at an antique store in 1997.  The blue one a student of mine painted for me in the reverse, with different colors from the color wheel.  She took mine back to her dorm for a few days and then I had it framed in a similar style.  I had them hanging in my office when I taught in college.

@lolakimono    The picture of your virtual desk came out great but instead of lamps I got two of the dreaded green boxes.

@lolakimono    Yes thanks.  I've had a ball with ceramic lamps ever since I discovered I could sponge on or dribble them with acrylic craft paint and it won't come off.  Vases too.

@Kachina624

So do you have an idea of what you would do with this lamp base?

@Patriot3 In Mexico, and yes he got hurt what was to be his last bullfight in Tijuana, Mexico. The Bull gored him in the groin area and that ended his career. But he lived to be 99 years old. Woman Very Happy
