@MJDinVegas ,  I'm honored that you would think so, thank you so much for that kind comment!   And good interior design has the same effect on me-- it "transports" me as well.

@spiderw ,  and @KathyM23 ,   ditto-- everything you esp. single out for approval, me too.  And thank you, @KathyM23 ,  for letting me have my candlesticks....

@DSD2 ,   I lived in N.O. for a number of years as a young adult, and had your same reaction--  very beguiling city, isn't it?

@BunSnoop ,  very handsome!   Love oversize--  some people call them "cathedral" candlesticks because of that stately size.  What fun you'll have decorating with your candlestick seasonally....

@faeriemoon  , your comment -- "lived in look softens the formality;

@BlueFinch ,  and yours, "combination of organic features, mixed with those more luxurious";

both very apt.

In fact, very sharp comments in this thread overall-- really fun to read all your reactions...

What a treat, both now, as are all yr posts!

Loved winding my way thru this home, esp with your notations.

Your descriptions really add detail, wonder & appreciation to the Overall Ambiance of these homes.

THANK YOU  @Oznell .

I like the stone wall with the arched opening between the two interior rooms along with the barrel vaulted brick and wood ceiling, creates a nice atmosphere and kind of an indoor/outdoor feel.

The tall cabinet desk with the inset clock looks like a 19th Century Swedish Gustavian Clock Secretary.  Nice gilt chair next to it.  Lots of nice velvet furniture throughout the villa.

A lot of it is not my taste, but I do love all of the candlesticks, the library and most of all that outside area. That is just gorgeous!!!!!!

Love the house itself! The decor, while truly beautiful, is too ornate for my taste.

I hope those candlesticks are removed when the dining table is in use...it would make me dizzy trying to look around them to see my dinner companions! Woman Very Happy

There are always things one might change to better actualize personal tastes, but this is impressive with many lovely elements. Would love to see the exterior and, among other pieces, would love to have that dressing table.

In my pantry with my cupcakes...
