So is it the bottom right or left when facing the head of the bed?

Moongirl, if you stand at the bottom of the bed and look at the headboard my sheets have the tag at the bottom left corner. The top right corner will work too.

I'm not sure if all sheets use that bottom left corner rule. Some people here say theirs are on the bottom right.

All my sheets are Northern Nights WD. The tag goes on the bottom right.

Re: King Size Sheets-which end is up?

Bought a set of the Target Threshold sheets. These are very nice sheets and a great price ($50.00 for a King set). They have a thick elastic around yhe entire bottom sheet and have the indications for side and top/bottom printed on the sheets. I really like these and They are a much nicer quality than the Northern Nights I bought recently in the same thread count. I am going back for another set.

That's the opposite of what works for me. What works best for the sheets and mattress pad that I have is: tag at bottom right or upper left.

I always use a contrasting color thread and put a couple of stitches on the top and bottom ends of the sheet. No more wondering which is the shorter end.
