Re: Keurig Bad Press......................

I don't understand the comments "prefer water to be fresh"???

We empty our water tank for Keurig out every day, wash it out, and put FRESH water in the next day!!!

Some people don't though- the water tank seems to be a source of some of the problems noted in the article.

Re: Keurig Bad Press......................

Like ibb and others here, we use our Keurig every day AND fill with fresh water each morning. I guess I can see a mold issue if one doesn't use their system daily--mold and buildup might form faster. I have not read the details of this recent report. But I will. And I'll probably still use my Keurig. I love it.Smiley Happy

Re: Keurig Bad Press......................

I think ANY product out there that has a pump system (and tubes) might have the possibility of this problem. They need periodic cleaning (as everyone here has stated!). I get so frustrated with reports like this because they (those "in charge" that are always looking for ways to inflame the public) can not stand for a product to be as successful as Keurig has become. They have wiped the floor regarding coffee systems!! And I wouldn't at all be surprised to find that the funding for a report like this might have come from a competitor. Gee, ya think? Anyone have a cappuccino maker?? I did... (I gave it to my son)... CONSTANT cleaning maintenance.

Run the descaling mixture through your machine at intervals, change out the filters every three months and you'll be fine.... Smile

Re: Keurig Bad Press......................

You need to periodically run vinegar through good old fashioned Mr Coffee drip machines, no difference here with Keurigs!

Years ago I had a drip coffee maker with a timer- set it up the night before and coffee is ready in the am. I never used the timer feature, I didn't like the idea of using water sitting overnight. Who knows how fast 'stuff' starts growing!!
