I'd change out that coffee table, other than that the room is perfect.

Re: Keeping It Simple

[ Edited ]

I totally understand some wanting to go with a more simplistic style ....but instead of simplistic decorating this room strikes me as to be more in the vein of.....

"I stopped in the middle of decorating and will finish later....."

Why put up the garland it does nothing for the room it needs something ----a few picks or votives or flameless candles..And why two trees???....the second tree by the window just looks odd and out of place....I dont like the painting above the fireplace either maybe put up a wreath for the Christmas season.....And how about a gold colored throw on the couch instead of that bird one that they have

And not so much Christmas but dont care for all the white furnishings especially with that wall color.....This room just doesnt seem to coordinate well for me regardless of the season....

This is a beautiful room! I do not however, favor the mantle. The garland, and picture are a mismatch for me.😊

I agree about the two trees.  One would have been sufficient.

For me, the mantle decor is calming as is the rest of the room, except as I previously posted, that awful coffee table.

Easy to relax in this room.

Love everything about it except the painting....which is lovely but I'm not sure if I would want that over the fireplace if it were my house.

Have to agree with you about the painting.  Not appealing.

This room has a lovely serene feeling.  I would prefer a painting with a stronger presence of clouds and no tree line at the bottom.

I would like a stronger tree look.

I debated about putting up the tree this year as we no longer do the Christmas entertaining and health and energy is declining.  But I love my ornaments so much I made the effort to put up the tree - did not want to dispost of the ornaments.  This post gave me the idea that I can keep my ornaments and display them in other places such as the pictured bowl.  I am not putting up a tree again, but will still use my ornaments in some way.

Thanks for this post.
