KANO BOXES ARE BACK

[ Edited ]

V33998 -  set of two large boxes.  I don't have any of these, but MominOhio and ohers said how nice they are, so I ordered a set.  I'm going to use mine for clothing.

ETA:  I do see they have the set of medium boxes in stock as well.

I accidentally stumbled upon these on the Q's website.  I have also read how others have praised these, so I bought both sizes.  Gonna use them for clothing also. Well, at least that's my plan! Lol.

@DecorDiva ~ Thank you for posting.  I've been waiting for these to come back in stock.  The cost of the 2 boxes is $35, and the charge for shipping (AK) is $21.72.  Give us (AK and HI) a break!🤑

They were presented as a new item on Saturday morning q. I have two sets from a couple years ago. Not sure what makes them new. There was a new color, but I didn't think that would matter. I bought two sets this morning. I have three containers in my linen closet with sheets in them. The forth is in the master closet with pocketbooks. I think one new set is going in the pantry for lock and lock containers and the other set will be used for seasonal decor.

@GCR18 and others who are using the large Kano boxes for sheets or bedding, I have a request.  Please tell me, in all honesty, how easy or difficult you find it to remove and/or replace folded sheets, pillowcases, or perhaps even larger bedding from the front drop-down zippered opening?  That would be my sole purpose of ordering the large boxes--to use the zip open front to remove and replace items, in theory.  I also have a desire to buy some for storing seasonal decor in another closet, but I'm not at that point just yet.

I've done all the measuring for my linen closet, and these would work out nicely in almost filling up 4 complete shelves.  I have additional odd sized shelves that are not as tall, but I could still use four of the large boxes to do a whole lot of much needed organizing in there.

@SHOPR

I have these on a shelf in my bedroom closet with sheets inside (as my linen closet is way too small to hold these), and I will say a couple of things will come in to play to make these easy to access your things.

First, how high up the are for you to reach. For me, I need to get a step stool out to easily access them. This isn't the fault of the box, but because, as my husband says, I'm 'a little short on one end"! LOL  So consider where you will be placing them because they can be a little harder to use if you can barely reach them, especially the ones you have to take down to use.

Second, how much you put in them will affect usability. You can't overfill and stuff them, then expect to unzip and retrieve one item. For my sheets, the box was big enough to stack three sets right in front of the window, then tuck a couple of pair behind. I also stack my husbands long john shirts in one (he needs one every day in the winter as he works outside some at work) and again, I have to fill it loosely or it is a struggle to pull only one out. Still it holds two weeks worth in one stack with other things stored beside that stack.

Before the boxes, I had these same things stacked on the same shelves, but every time I'd try to get one thing out of the stack things would topple out at me (remember my challenged height) and this way I am able to keep things in place!

The zippers worried me, as I wondered with daily use, if they would hold up, but so far, so good for mine.

I also have been able to stack these on top of each other. They aren't really designed to do this, but if you are careful about the weight of the top box, it can be done.

And for whoever asked why these are 'new' it is because the sets now are two of the same box in each set instead of one of each size in the older sets.

I had hoped that they would bring them back like this, but they are more expensive now too. Wonder if I should wait it out and see if they get reduced or have some free shipping. I love these things,

@DecorDiva

Thanks for posting this (I think!!).

I love that now you can get two of the large ones. I wish that had been an option before, but I found great uses for the smaller ones as well.

@SHOPR

To be honest, I haven't taken anything out.  I have like 12 sets of sheets and am a horrible folder.  I wasted a lot of space because I couldn't stack them high.  I don't think it would be too bad getting something out.

@SHOPR, @Mominohio

I tried to add a comment to my picture, but my kindle wasn't having it.

The small is on the left, 2 large on right.  Larges aren't filled to capacity.

I didn't remember it was one of each size, that's why they are new.
