Re: JMHO~But Why?

[ Edited ]

I have seen them at Hobby Lobby but these "look" nicer IMO.

I would love a set of the red & green apples, though I like the pears too. I like how some of them are yellow & some are green, like real pears.

I understand and agree that it seems to be overkill sometimes and the battery/lit element does drive up the price, but it must be that the lit items are the big sellers, or the trend would've stopped by now.

FWIW, the main item of interest for me today is the set of faux pears, no lights.  Ha Ha.

Those apples & pears look very realistic. Love them!

Thanks for saying that.  I'm glad others think the pears in particular look good.  It looks like Valerie had the pears in the wire apothecaries during the video for H200890 from earlier today.  I paused the video several times and if they are indeed all pears, they are quite varied in color, which is just what I want.

I am looking at other sites for pears, too, but I'm not sure if I like any of them as much...still thinking because of the s&h and total price...

@SHOPR  and @ChiliPepper  I agree with both of you! They are great looking faux fruit! I think if there was a box available with a mix of all 3 of the fruit ...green & red apples and pears..and maybe some other fruit like grapes, I'd snag them up. But I don't need 18 pcs of fruit. Again, for me, it's part storage issue, and part available space to display a big bowl of fruit Smiley Happy

I bought apples, pears, and limes at Home Goods and they look very realistic, less expensive also, but I know not everyone has access to Home Goods.

I asked this question a while back myself, and I don't understand it either, Frankly, some of the lit items that have been offered are just plain tacky.

To each their own, I guess.

Thanks.  No HomeGoods within a two hour or more drive.  I wish!

Pier1 website has a set.  I have their lemons and small oranges and love them both, but not sure about the pears.

Sorry for continuing with the O/T about the pears, but I just ordered a set of Valerie's.

Did anyone see them just presented by Valerie and Jayne?  I thought they looked nice.  Some are more green, while the others are yellow with the blush red area.

I agree that the 'lit' phenomenon has gone wild!

I only buy a lit item if I like it as much unlit as I do lit. It will fail, at some time, and I don't want to have to trash it because it no longer lights and I don't like it that way.

And some of the stuff actually looks better unlit. I got the set of 3 MG pumpkins from Valerie last year, and they look less appealing lit, as the MG isn't all that 'dark' and you can see the mechanical inner workings when lit.

I have to agree...I have several pumpkins that actually look better when not lit.  I have found that some of Valerie's light bulbs do not light up the entire the piece, so only a small part of the item is lit.
