Does anyone remember Peggy & Pam Jones..."The Slob Sisters"...being on QVC? They promoted their organizational kit....everything on 3x5 cards allocating a chore every day. No matter how big the house or how small the apt, things have to be done. Those crazy little cards have organized me for many yrs. I like to think anyone could drop over @ any given time.

If I don't know they are coming, the front door stays unanswered. That may sound mean but, since I retired, my schedule is my own and it doesn't include impromptu visits from friends or family.
Same here. I not only dislike "drop-ins", but it is unsafe especially if you live alone.

Definitely not!
I'm in a rental and I'm practically camping. Almost everything I own is still boxed and disassembled from the move this summer.
If anyone comes to stay, I would have to put beds together, unbox lamps, search for the linen boxes....

No, my home is almost always FAR from guest ready... Not that I plan to start having lots of guests, but this is one of those things I plan to work on after Christmas...

yes, I am pretty much guest-ready all of the time. I like a clean house and I don't do clutter.
I have wine and some sort of snack food in the fridge all of the time.
I have friends who will call and say can I come over with little notice and I love it. Life is too short to resent spending time with friends spur of the moment.
