Is sweeping outdated and inefficient?

Always being one to do something faster and more effectivly, I dumped sweeping 7 years ago. I use my dyson on all my floors. How do you all feel about it? I have 4 inside animals so I don't want hair flying around (I'm sure it would) if I did sweep. Are you all still sweeping? If not, how are you dry cleaning your tile/hard surface areas?
