Re: Idea for a Holiday Business?

I know you're joking but please don't suggest this. This a an all too common ruse to gain access to your home.

Men who show up in work gear with flourescent vests after dark and announce they have detected a gas leak in your home and ask to gain entry.

They often have fake employee ID 's and magnetic signs for their vehicle.

Ended tragically  for an older couple in a wealthy suburb of Detroit a few months ago. The couple had a Ring doorbell and I was stunned to see how legit they appeared.

Also.........faux "missionaries".    I had a couple young men, carrying a book that looked more like a dictionary, DEMAND to come in the house.

They were NOT the usual neatly dressed and well-groomed type.      They looked more like they spent the night sleeping at the bus stop.

My family can hang out for many hours and have a lot of fun. I don't think it's a bad thing to be together for a long time, especially on a holiday. .

Gosh, no.  I only invite people I love or really like to my home.

Had our whole family, including my oldest granddaughter who is home from college, here until about 9:00.  I would never want them to go home early!

Just NO.  Would cause panic to the guests and possibly danger to the employees once the scam was uncovered.  Bad idea.

Re: Idea for a Holiday Business?

Well I enjoy being with family on the holidays!

I went to my sister in law's yesterday for Thanksgiving.  We arrived around 3:30 and left between 9:30-10 pm.

When they come to my house for Christmas they do the same.  We like spending the time together (at least I think so) but it's not we do this all the time!
