IRISH COUNTRY ROOMS

[ Edited ]

Minnie Peters is a Dublin interior designer, who has a kind of windswept authenticity in the beach houses, cottages and larger dwellings that she designs.

These images following aren't all from one single house, but several she has done.  I do think that most, and probably all, are in beautiful Ireland.

Love this kitchen, with its gorgeous stone backsplash, and oiled oak island counter.  The heavy oak beam brings such atmosphere.

A sitting room in the same house.  Those thin bricks in the fireplace are called Belgian bricks.  I think they are interesting.

A better shot of them--

Absolutely love this cabinet, with its "pinfold" texture.

And even the small cabinet, with its diamond pane detail, intrigues.  I think it said they were both Swedish.

The old cowbells were used as a nod to the country location of the cottage...

The simplicity of the antique wood chests she uses is so apropos.

Another sitting room with that interesting brick--

Love her choices in pottery, art, pillows--

I think this great room below, is in a coastal house she did in the west of Ireland.  The vaulted ceiling with beams gives stateliness.

A closeup of the darling Irish bench in this room, and the wild coast view from this cottage:

Sorry these kitchen shots are truncated-- images from her portfolio are hard to reduce and translate to another size!

Another airy sitting room, enlivened by art and lacy greenery.

Here's a more formal house she did.  But even here, I think that there's a serene, unpretentious vibe,  keeping a too- starchy formality at bay--

Ireland is an unforgettable country.  Love the houses, gardens and views there.   To me, Minnie Peters reflects that same soothing, down-to-earth, yet magical feeling in her various Irish interiors.

Edited to add:  Good grief, I had meant to include other photos, but somehow didn't.  These are also from the larger, more formal house--

Love the floors in here.

I wouldn't be unhappy in any of those rooms, particularly the one with the writing table set in front of the bay window looking out over a very green-looking garden.

There is much appeal and loveliness in the rooms.  The sitting rooms are comfortable and warm,  I like the brick design in the fireplace, interesting and unique.  The chests and cabinets are definite winners and enhance the rooms. The round mirror in the bathroom is a nice touch as are the cow bells on the chest.  I do like the table and lovely chairs in the formal room.  These rooms for me would be places o get away to, rest and read and enjoy the beautiful views.

I love these rooms. I especially like the use of the checkered shade in the bathroom. It takes away any starkness. Every room seems to have much thought out into it, from the cowbells to the mantel-less fireplace.

Such wonderful pinched pleat drapes.  Look like they are sewn down too.  That takes time.

My little brain is going - let's see ceiling height, lining, hardware, $$$$$

Very nice stylish, comfortable rooms but I hate her taste in and penchant for short, squat, disproportionate  lampshades.

Love these colors and accessories.

Love each and every one of these pics. Thanks for posting them here for us.  They've given me some ideas I've been searching for.
