I bought a small plant for the house with stalks of bamboo. It's pretty and it wasn't expensive. But I always thought that if you kept the soil moist, it pretty much just lived. I believe they're jammed into a smallish container to keep them from growing like the huge ones that are around the area.
First, a few months ago, one of the stalks turned all yellow and looked awful compared to the vivid green color of the others. It pulled out easily from the container so I threw it away. Now, a couple of months later, another stalk is turning yellow. Are they supposed to do this or is my initial impression correct that it's slowly dying?? How do you keep these things alive?
I always said I wasn't good with plants.....this is just cementing my impression that I've got a Black Thumb (not a green one, that's for sure!!!).
