I have been watching Carolyn's decorating show and ordered this white nostalgic porcelain tree (H203703). My aunt made a green one for me over 30 years ago and I adore it and still use it most years when decorating. It brings back so many memories...LOVE!!!!!

Oh my goodness. This absolutely reminds me of my childhood. We had a white one very, very similar to this. I wonder what my parents did with it? In our version you inserted the little color bulbs in it each season. That was my job as a kid.

That is definitely a blast from the past! It's nice to see that it is still so loved. The white version is very nice!

Isn't it funny how time changes (or doesn't!) things! These were a dime a dozen during the 1980's and 1990's when I worked in thrift stores. We couldn't give them away, and some were rather lovely. They were seen as a cast off from the 70's, all had been made in ceramic classes by someone's grandma or aunt, and went horribly out of fashion.
I have had one since the early 80's that was a gift from my then husband, made by a friend, and quite different from any others I've seen. I have always loved it and it has come out every Christmas since.
Fast forward to two Christmases ago, and my teenage son, who was working in an auction house got me a pearl white one with red bulbs (this one dated on the bottom from 1980), because he thought I'd love it. In reality, I had only ever liked the one I owned, and thought them (in general) to be outdated cast offs. I couldn't hurt his feelings, and loved it just because he gave it to me, so I built a vignette around it. Lo and behold, with a couple of hours, I had fallen in love with it. It is one of my most treasured Christmas decorations, and I will always remember my son giving it to me.
I know that when I downsize at sometime in the future, those two trees will be kept, if not by me at some point, then by my kid, as there has always been a bonding each year as we put the bulbs in the one I've always had, and we both have a strong attachment to it.
Hope others that purchase these take a fond trip down memory lane, and it reminds us to be careful what we discard as everything comes back in fashion sooner or later!

I have a throwback tree like that in green that I bought at Kmart maybe 7 or 8 years ago. QVC's price on this tree is crazy high! Bet they are available on the Bay.
ETA: I stand corrected: similar trees on the Bay are even more crazy expensive!

Love the white version! I still have the one my mom made for me 40 years ago.

We were married on valentines day of 1983.(regift!) Someone gave us one of these ceramic trees as a wedding present. I still have it, it still works. Mine is green.

When my mom moved into senior housing, she stopped putting up a tree. She had a green version of this table top tree. She always placed it on a table with an antique lace tablecloth.
