I also did this last year from an idea I got off a tv morning show NBC that I found archived. I had to do about 15 of them so I used fake flowers from the dollar store but they looked nice. and I used red and green apples and alternated them on the tables. I used a tool to poke holes in them so I could stick the flowers in, and this is how they looked (from the archived picture from NBC)

For my coffee table I am going to get some sheer olive and burgundy material and scrunch it up on the coffee table and put my black birdcage on top of it to ground it and put a wreath around it with some led lights either around it or inside it. I will show a picture when I am done.
