I agree. I often think upon seeing delapitated buildings in the countryside .. how life was for them & why this location .. ? Looks very cozy in this weather. It would be nice if someone could rebuild it. But, on the practical side .. who knows.

This is an old home not a barn.

Do you know a good photographer? My husband doesn't have one of those, but he loves old barns like that. He's got some pretty good photos now. Some look just like oil paintings. Find a good photographer, and they might be able to help you out there.

We love Cade's Cove. We have a painting of one of the old cabins from there, by one of their local artists. It's hanging up, right behind me. It could be the cabin you mention, I forget.

It does have a certain charm, however I feel it would be more of a draw for me if it wasn't so dilapidated. My grandfather had many acres of land way back in the day and we would be able to ride with him sometimes on his tractor. He had several small barn/shed type buildings. I wish I had old photos of them. I can see why you like it.

I have a thing for old barns like this too--I found the prints online in different sizes and then framed them in unique frames that kind of matched--I have 4 that are similar for each season of the year--some are old and grungy and some have weathered paint--- I looked on Etsy for the pics and also for the mats too--- got so many comments from many of the people touring my house when I was selling it last Jan.

There is a haunting beauty to that scene; a painting would be nice in the right setting.
It's probably not for Thomas Kinkade fans though. ![]()

This looks like a home. Can you print it and then frame it? I have a covered bridge that went to my husbands Grandmothers house. It's a water color, and I made several copies for Family, that they could frame.

@ECBG I like it. Just looking at it, you know it went thru some good and rough times. It evokes in me the history and imagination.
How old is it? I wonder who first lived here and when? How big of a family lived here and how long? What kind of people were they and how did they make their living? How many other families lived here and who was last and why did they leave? And on and on it goes. Many thoughts and questions.
