Our house is similar to a shotgun house - which means that when you come in the door from the street you can look straight back through the house and see all the way to the back slider doors and out onto the lake behind the house. I understand these types of homes are popular in the south. My decorating dilemma is - in the living room we have one entire wall is a big piece of furniture that holds the TV and all the electrinics etc. We can't put it up flush agiainst the wall because behind it are a zillion wires and plugs and some speakers that hang out the back. When you walk into the house you can see behind this piece of furniture from the side and it looks terrible. You see all the wires and the backs of the speakers hanging over. I had a ficus tree in a planter there but it was a real PIA to dust all the time so I got rid of it. I was sorta considering putting a screen of some sort there. What have some of you all done to hide the rear of your entertainment center from being visible from the side ?
