I never heard of Rain-X. Sounds like a good idea. I will have to look for it. Do you just spray and let it dry or do dry with a paper towel?

My windows tilt in and I get to them, maybe once a year. I still have to have DH help me, even though they tilt in since they are cumbersome and I'm clumsy!

ITA! We wash the widows and clean the screens once a year. Window treatments make it unnecessary to wash the windows more than once a year,

I am a window freak - I clean them all the time as part of my routine. Love clean windows!! My brother almost stepped through my closed kitchen door a few years ago! Now I hang a little do dad on it so nobody goes through it!

Since I got new windows they are a breeze to lift out and clean and I do it myself twice a year now. It's truly maddening, though, how it seems to rain within 24 hrs. of EVERY SINGLE TIME I do it!
P.S. to Persephonie: The guy I used to hire used Dawn soap in a bucket of water and did the squeegee thing. When I started doing them myself I got myself a squeegee from Home Depot and use a little Dawn soap in a bucket and it works great!

I believe that is a matter of opinion.

Agreed. We have a professional window washing service that does inside and outside windows and screens and gutters in one visit—once per year. The solution they use on the windows keeps them clean for a year, even after all the rain and snow. I was a real skeptic the first year they promised that, but I am a true believer after 8 or 9 years of seeing how clean the windows remain all year, year after year.
