I have a 40+yo Maytag and I wash everything in 'Regular-Cold-Wash'. The only other option is 'Permanent Press'.

@SilleeMee   LOVE THAT ...  my Maytag is a little over 26 years old.   LOVE IT.

My mother's washer was purchased in 1967 and it's STILL running! It's a Maytag.

Towels are one of the few items I wash in hot water.  Hot water with detergent and two cold rinses.  And with white towels I do add Clorox.  I know they say not to add laundry softener, but I do.  I like big fluffy towels so I use dryer sheets ( one to a load).

Re: How do you wash your towels?

I'm also a cold water regular cycle washer. I no longer sort clothes since I live alone and everything goes into the clothes basket until it's full and then everything goes into the washer on cold. I used to sort everything and have five baskets of clothes on wash day with each one getting a different cycle. I honestly don't see a difference from washing everything together in cold water or sorting each thing out. If there's a mite or bug that's able to survive the 35 minutes drowning, and spinning in the washer and then an hour in a hot dryer, nothing else I do is likely to kill it off. That would be one tough mite or bug. My clothes come out as clean as ever.

No fabric softener or dryer sheets. I like my bath towels absorbent . Same for kitchen.

Always warm or hot water.

Re: How do you wash your towels?

I will throw a towel, underwear, pants,  together in a normal cycle with warm water and an extra rinse, and soap and then vinegar in the rinse.  Golf clothes and towels get washed together immediately when the golf clothes come off.

Sheets get washed top and bottom king size separately, with a few pillowcases in each load.  Warm. Vinegar rinse.

Napkins and kitchen towels get washed together--we use lots of napkins and kitchen towels. Usually some sort of booster with the soap.  Vinegar rinse.

I do clothes (no jeans or heavy fabric) on permanent press, cold or warm wash.

Re: How do you wash your towels?

I have an LG. I wash my towels in hot water and add a little bleach. I really don't like my LG washer.  Others have even remarked to me on how noisy it is. I have a sanitize on my dryer and that's what I use....just for towels and wash rags.
