Any thing I put away for storage is washed both before and after. We have several closets where we store those blankets, etc.

Before they are stored they absolutely need to be cleaned.  If nothing else there are skin oils there.

I keep mine in big bins, but I am the queen of cold.  Some stay out all year.

I wash them before I store them.  Some I fold and leave on the sofa or at the foot of beds.  Some go in those underbed storage units or I put them in spare drawers.  I have too many throws and not enough places to hide them when I don't need them.

I wash all my throws and fall/winter blankets and store them in an ottoman.  I also save those clear, zippered plastic storage bags that comforter etc, come in and store extra blankets in those.

Yes, wash before putting away.  I have them different places.  A couple chests and a couple plastic storage containers.

Definitely wash them before storing. I have a closet for linens. I just fold and put on shelf.

Absolutely launder or dry clean! We had a linen closet lined with cedar for our blankets and quilts. I also keep my wool sweaters in there, as well as my winter coats, scarves, etc. In years past, my husband and I both kept our suits in that cedar closet, too. It's been the best change we made to this house.

I definitely wash them before putting them away. Most of mine are stored in a large cedar chest. The others are in a large plastic bin.

I always wash mine before storing as a rule.   I have a large closet in the basement my hubby built for me with lots of hanging space  and shelves.  I too keep the zippered plastic bags from new quilts or comforters I have purchased and use those to put them in.
