There are many people who only wash their bed sheets a few times a year, or not at all. Some people do not even have sheets on their beds. They sleep on the bare mattress. This is more common than you might think and economic status does not make a difference.
ICK!

Everything I wear with the exception of coats and jackets goes into the washing after the lst wear. Can't imagine re-hanging in my closet pants or in dresser drawers sweaters etc with body oil, skin flakes, who knows what from sitting in restaurant booths and other public places. As for wearing a bra 3 or 4 times that would surely be a no-no. I do wear my at home robes several times, but they are not put away before washing.
I'm glad I no longer wear dry clean only suits, pants and dresses!

Wow! I'm surprised at how many wash items of clothing after one wearing. I guess everyone lives in areas where water is plentiful and are not concerned with conservation.

ITA
I grew up on a farm in the Midwest where water was precious
so I don’t take our water sources for granted. I’m proud
my Mom/Dad taught me those lessons to carry with me today.
If one would step foot outside the US, on a worldwide scope,
almost all countries are aware of their water conservation
and adjust accordingly.

Judgement hangs heavy on this thread... can you feel it?
Now imagine if someone were to admit on here that they didn't shower EVERY DAY! Ahooga! Ahooga! Sound the alarm! LOL

I use my own judgment when it comes to washing items. In the summer when it’s hot I wash clothing items & bed sheets more often. In the winter I wash items less often.
I wash lighter colors more often than darker colors.
Basically,it depends on the item, length of wear & season. I find that if I wash things too often the colors fade & fibers break down. Therefore, I’m careful to only wash things when necessary.

You should be showering in the morning so you would be clean before leaving the house unless you don't wash your clothing after one wearing!! Showering before bed is useless if the sheets are not clean so you have to shower in the mornng anyway! That doesn't bother me because I shower in the morning! What grosses me out is that those who wear their clothing dirty and full of bacteria after so many wearings are all over the place contaminating everyone and everything. We can't avoid all bacteria and germs but washing clothes after wearing them for a day helps! Look how we are being told to scrub our hands for 2 minutes after going to the bathroom even though our hands are not touching the waste that comes out of our bodies! I can't believe that everyone thoroughly cleanses with a wet one or two after going to the bathroom. Even if you do this there is bound to be some bacteria, germs and fecal matter found on pants and especially jeans! Underwear cannot stop it!

I guess your manager skipped this article in Real Simple. Lol.
I worked with a guy who didn’t heed the part on washing shirts either. He wore the same shirt for 4 solid months, every single day, without washing it—in a corporate office that had a specific handbook on appearance devoted almost exclusively to what women weren’t allowed to wear or do and just one reminder to males to clip their fingernails. So the only consequence was that finally the guys in his area moved the stinky guy’s drafting table as far away as they could. I kept that handbook for years because it was so funny but sad—sexist, archaic, and condescending (women were not allowed to wear hostess pajamas [darn it], see through blouses were permitted only if you wore a bra [really?], brush your teeth if you smoke because your boss doesn’t want to smell bad breath, etc.). It is a classic.
