I have a good 30/35. I got rid of probably 50 over the last few years. I know you can anything on the internet but I like to go through them. I like a book in my hand.
I found an Emeril Lagasse cookbook and said, "when the heck did I buy this?"
DD responded, "you didn't, it's mine and it's autographed." Huh!! "You hate cooking and anything kitchen related, why and when did you buy a cookbook."
Emeril did a book signing at a store near DD's office years ago and she went, bought his book and got it signed. Well, okey dokey then.
I have a stack of paperback Best of books from QVC that must be 15 years old. Those I am getting rid of. I have 2 Ina Garten cookbooks, and I don't even care for Ina Garten.
I need a 12 step program for cookbooks and kitchen related stuff. But, but I might need it someday. Someday never comes. No wonder DH just shook his head sometimes.

I scaled down to a sentimental 5 when I moved 3 years ago.

I have 8 cookbooks after scaling back but should really only have 3 since that's how many I use.

I have like maybe 10 but the most important one is the one that was my Moms and she used it religiously. I have that one put up as I bought that same cookbooks when it came out a few years ago as an anniversary. I use it all the time as if something happens to that one it's not as big of deal. The actuall one my mom used has notes in it written by her and it is too precious to risk something happening to it.
I got rid of a probably 50-60 cookbooks about a year ago. I used to love them but now I just do an internet search and I print out the recipes I use over and over again.
Just doing the whole downsizing thing.

Went down to four with my big sort. Should have one more that I still miss.

I have many old cookbooks and in fact have one given to me when I was a young girl! Most of what I have are retro cookbooks from my mom. The funny thing is that she rarely looked at the cookbooks and I haven't either!

Probably more than 100 and I have thinned them in the last few years.
I am old, so I have all the old masters from back in the day. I have books on cooking in regions where we have spent time: Low Country, New Orleans, New England, the South.
I have regional and ethnic books: French, Italian, Mexican/Southwest/South American; Middle Eastern and Mediterranean.
I have books on entertaining because we used to have big parties; I have books on baking and sourdough and such; I have books on bbq and was friends with a lot of the bbq teams at one time in my life, and I have books on healthy eating.
And then other miscellaneous aspects of food, preparation and entertaining.

I've got one somewhere, but I'd have to hunt for it.

I donated about 30 cookbooks 2 weeks ago. I still have 29 (I just counted them).
Not sure why I kept so many, I am quickly losing interest in spending hours making something and then spending an hour cleaning up the dirty dishes, bowls and pans that I made.
