First, let me say that I actually like doing laundry. However, for well over a week leading up to my daughter's wedding in October I just stopped washing clothes. With all the stress, I sort of forgot about it. For two days after the wedding, I did thirteen loads of dirty clothes and promised myself I wouldn't ever get behind like that again.

Every morning since then without fail (so far) I start a load of dirty clothes as soon as I get up. It may be a small load but not so small that it's wasteful. At some point before I go to bed, I dry them and fold them/hang them and put them away. Before, I was bad about letting a ton of things just hang on the rod in the laundry room or sit on the folding table because putting up clean clothes is not my favorite thing to do. If I do need to do two loads in one day, I will, but ONLY if I know I have time to do both loads from start to finish including putting everything up.

I'm a big list maker but no longer is "do laundry" on any list of mine. I just know that it's something I'll do every day. This sounds so simple-and it really is--but it has made my life easier, and I wish I had been doing it this way all along.
