Hot Buttered Rum/Slatkin

I ordered the Hot Buttered Rum 16 ounce candle from B&BW for $15.00 along with a free candle sleeve. The order arrived today ,and I was so excited to light it and enjoy the wonderful scent. I cannot smell it at all, and the wicks are drowning. I know that I can return it to a store here where I live, but I guess they will want the sleeve along with it- is that correct?
