Does anyone own this? It's triggerless and is supposed to work more like a vacuum in that regard. This is a Spring cleaning project that I'd like to do.
Hoover site has a special on it right now, including extra cleaning solution

No I don't have this and personally, I would never try to clean my own carpets. I leave that up to the pros. Worth the $$ to have them come in and do it------

@wagirl I've done it several times with a different machine. Easy and it worked well. I'd prefer to save the money. Plus the machine is always on hand for any spills or stains.

I own two Hoover Carpet cleaners, one smaller and one that is larger. They work okay and I was happy with them.
Last fall, I went to a friend's home and she just cleaned her off white carpets. They were beautiful. They were never that great looking before. She had a Bissel Big Green carpet cleaner.
I was so impressed that I looked into them. They are expensive. I finally caved and bought one using points from a credit card which helped a lot.
When it came, I immediately cleaned my second floor hallway and master bedroom although the carpet wasn't dirty...or so I thought. Then I cleaned the carpet in my RV that I thought was spotless because my DH shampooed it already with the Hoover after our last trip. I couldn't believe the dirt that came up.
What a difference! I love that machine. I am thrilled with my purchase. That carpet cleaner is wonderful and makes even old carpets look like brand new. It was worth the money and more.
There is one downside. When full, the machine is very heavy. I would think the Bissel you posted is too. If you need to move to a different level in your home, you would need to remove the water tank and move it separately.
i noticed that Home Depot rents these machine out. People could try before they buy or just rent when needed and not have to worry about storing a large unit.
i saw the Hoover you are looking at on HSN this week in action. They probably have a ton of reviews on their site. The host, Adam said this was their best selling carpet cleaner.

I own a small Pet Spot Bissell cleaner. It does the job on pet mishaps but I prefer to have them professionally cleaned every Spring.
The pro told me when I asked why I still see "spots" of where my kitty had a accident after they clean -- he said its because the solution is "not really coming up" and the area (spot) continues to collect dirt.
For me I prefer to have the professional do it ... love how they look (at least for a few days since my kitty has "yack" moments) and fresh my house smells. PLUS, those machines are just to heavy and if you miss a spot you'll definitely be able to tell!

I have both Bissell and a Hoover carpet cleaners. The Hoover is far superior and does a great job.

@Greeneyedlady21 , I have a Hoover Steam Vac. I use it on the main level in my home. I have over 2000 square feet there. I have a long hallway, a laundry room, a huge kitchen and two bathrooms that all have tile. I also use it to stay clean smaller area rugs from the kitchen, entryway and bathrooms. It does a great job. It has a clean water tank and a dirty water tank which I love.
I can’t believe the dirt it picks up. I have a clean house and it always surprises me how much dirt comes up.
Mine is about 12 years old and has paid for itself time and again. It is an earlier version of the one shown here.
It can be heavy but I have no stairs so it is not a problem. LM

Wouldn't do without a carpet cleaner. Decided to buy a Hoover when we suspected outside cleaning services weren't getting our wall to wall carpet as clean as we wanted. We were right.
Use it on wool area rugs, as well, and they turn out beautiful.
Never used this model, but it has a 4.7 rating on Hoover's website.

@Greeneyedlady21 ----I have found that do it yourself machines don't get the dirt out and leave alot of residue that attracts the dirt, thus having to clean the carpets more often, --now days or at least in my neck of the woods, there are very good carpet cleaning methods that are green and inexpensive and that use super heated water and no chemicals. I only want to clean my carpets once a year not 3 or 4 or more--and have someone move furniture and do all the work---no brainer for me!!
