I put a drop or two of essential oil on the furnace vent filter and that is a gentle freshener.

@TX-starlight  I burn "sugar cookie" scented candles 12 months out of the year. I love a natural scent. I also have suffered with migraines for over 60 years and cannot tolerate sweet strong scents. I receive candles sometimes from friends that I could not possibly burn. I open them and just let them sit in the laundry room or near the litter box and never light them.

I started using some Goat Milk soap in my bathrooms and they smell sooooo fresh!  Extra bonus!

I am on my way to Bath and Bodywork to see their wallflower sale. It is a plug in. I have wax tarts from scentsy, yankee and at best they seem to last 2 days.

I like the yankee scenterpiece too but I find it harder and harder to find the melt cups unless I order.

I use wax melts, candle warmers, votives and tea lights.  I also do a simmer pot on the stove with dollar store cinnamon, cloves, and vanilla extract.

I use a nebulizing diffuser. I have quite a collection of EOs of all kinds. One of my favorites is the Cheer Up Buttercup by Now Foods. It's a blend of different oils that makes me feel good when I smell it.Woman Happy

Honestly, the older I get, the more sensitive my sinuses get, and while I do use wax melts in an electric melter thingy (sorry to be so darn technical LOL), and occasionally light a candle, I prefer to just clean good, keep the cat boxes very clean (I have two cats, the boxes are in the basement and I clean them twice a day) and even in the cold weather, open the windows every so often to get fresh air in the house.

Fragrances bother me more all the time.

In the summer our windows are open all the time, as we have no air conditioning, so I don't worry about the house getting too smelly or stale then. In the winter, mostly cooking certain things cause me to want to put some kind of fragrance in the air for a short time.

I totally agree. I always open windows, especially bathroom after shower.  I clean toilet, kitchen garbage very, very often.

I use air diffusers in a light scent like linen or rain. They last months.

Enjoy coming into my house and smelling nothing.

Also have problem sinuses, headaches-chemicals bother me.

@IMW I have to ask, what brand of diffusers do you use? The ones I use, mostly Pier One, only last 2 - 3 weeks at most.

@traveler I use BBW wallflowers and they only last about 10 - 14 days. How long do they last for you?
