I'm still working on my long list of projects from the point that we purchased our home. It's been revised so many times that I just called it the "on-going" list. Seriously, I am determined to get it fully completed this year and be over it.
The spare bedroom is going to be a closet/storage room.
The wall paper has to be removed from the kitchen, hallways and one bedroom. (We purchased an older, big home so there are lots of rooms...UGH!)
The downstairs bedroom suite has been turned into a kennel room for our GSD's and the second room is now storage. That room will become a spare bedroom.
I am still clearning out the work room, storage room, Christmas storage room and cedar closet of "stuff".
I've made at least six major clear outs of "stuff" over the years and now I'm down to the "do I really want to keep this" phase.
We had multiple family members living with us when we purchased this home and finally we just have us. It will be nice to see empty space on the shelves and in the rooms.
Wish me luck!

We have been doing quite a few things since the summer. At that time, we did garage renovations, ran an separate electric line for our freezer, which is in the garage. We also found mold in our basement, so that had to be taken care of, as well as a fireplace insert replacement.
For the end of March, we are installing 10 new windows and probably will be doing new siding on our home. Luckily, our front is brick, so we mght save some money there.
The house has become a money pit.

Next DH's shower needs replaced, but not sure how to go about that project. House was built in 1979....master bath is TINY and I am sure the shower is built into the wall....if it is going to cost a forturne we may have to canel the project.
Prime your walls first with a coat or two of Kilz. Don't let the paint store sell you paint with "stainblocker" aka Kilz in it. The results wont be the same.
Use water based Kilz/Kilz Premium, you dont need the Kilz Max stuff.
I had a friend who tried to cheap around using 2 coats of paint without primer to cover 80's lemon yellow and burnt orange. Didn't work. She wasted both time and money.

My kitchen was Martha Stewart Beet, a deep rich red color and the painters used Benjamin Moore Regal Select and just did 2 coats over it. No primer needed.
