What is the next project you have planned for your home?

Build a new one, sell it, paint a room, plan your garden or landscape...?

Share your plan here.

As mentioned on another thread I am planning a kitchen refresh for later this month.

A couple of small jobs (one day or less) right behind that. As homeowners there's always something, isn't there?

I am hoping and planning for all work, projects and cleaning to be completed before Easter.

Just finished painting the master bedroom.  Next is crown moulding around and then new switchplates and window treatments.

Once that is done I think the kitchen - not sure if I'll paint and put in new counters or gut to the studs and go from there.  If i do the latter, I want to knock down the wall between the dining and kitchen area and expand it to a much larger room.  Clearly a huge difference in cost and time.

Then I start the basement which is a playroom but not heated, used 3 seasons only.  New flooring and paint, very small investment but makes for such a nice setup with my backyard and pool area.

And yes, you are 100% correct- It's always something!

This is probably due to some extreme cold weather we had last week, but the glass in one of our windows is broke. They were just installed last year.

The drywall in the utility room has to be replaced.

DH had to bust through to get to the water pipes that froze when it was -29F last week.

I want to paint our spare bedroom, currently it is green, I am going to apint it creme....ugh, how many coats will it take??

Next DH's shower needs replaced, but not sure how to go about that project. House was built in 1979....master bath is TINY and I am sure the shower is built into the wall....if it is going to cost a forturne we may have to canel the project.

@Chicagosuburbangirl: Oh NO!!

@Mom2Dogs: I just moved from a house built in 1970 with that same TINY master bath!

Fortunately, a previous owner did a nice and complete reno on the MB. I expect a good contractor can give you an idea what is involved in taking on your bathroom project.

For the paint: probably a coat of primer and two coats of cream paint.

Additional insulation in the wall behind the kitchen sink and dishwasher - and figure out what is wrong with the kitchen window that leaked cold air like a sieve this past week! It's not something we'll do ourselves - DH isn't able to do that type of thing anymore, but it is a definite spring project.

@queendiva...our master is very large, length of the house and a nice width, 2 sets of double closets and a teeny, tiny bath.  Guess that is how they were built in the 70's.  There is no way we could share that bathroom, I use the LARGE bath down the hall.

Re: Home projects

[ Edited ]

Had a huge tree fall on my house in Dec and have the whole upstairs to re do/repair--3 bedrooms and 2 baths.

Been trying to find contractors to bid on it with very little luck----will be  major construction. Have contacted at least 12 and 3 have actually shown up--so maddening!!!

We're currently refreshing my son's old bedroom.  It still had the little boy sports border (DS is 30) with a lot of his old toys, etc.  We're repainting it a neutral color, I ordered a new valance, bedding and we're replacing the old carpet with hardwood.

We gave a lot of stuff away, some were trashed and others DS wants to keep so they went into large plastic bins into storage.

It will be a neutral and fresh guestrooom....I can't wait for it to be finished!
