My town of about 25,000 is just now catching up to a lot of stores others have had for years. Recently we just got a Hobby Lobby and a TJ Max. But, I read and hear about Home Goods. Is it a general merchandise store with a variety of items, similar to a TJ Max or more in the line of a Michael's or Hobby Lobby?  I really don't need another store to entice me to spend $$ on decorating, but I am curious. Since we do have a Hobby Lobby now, my spending on QVC decorating items has dropped considerably since I can hold out for the 66-90% sales. I stalk the store and make my choices and then keep checking back to see when they drop the prices. (only live 10 min. away.) Of course on those big haul days, the goodies are hidden in the trunk of the car until hubby is away.

Re: Home Good Store question.

@nomar It is part of the TJMax and Marshalls group.  I like it the best.

Home goods is owned by tj maxx. I love it, good deals, hoppy lobby is more a diy store, home goods is already made. Fyi, if you see something you like, you should buy it, you can always return it, but tj,s and home goods don't  stock multiples, so chances are it will be gone when you go back tk get it.

@nomar.  You have an unusually nice choice of stores for a town of 25,000.  Count your blessings.

@nomar, if you like decor, then you'll most likely love Home Goods. I love the place and always find something there. It's a fun store, although a bit crowded with a lot of merchandise! Of course that's what makes it so great.

Re: Home Good Store question.

Home Goods is geared more towards things for the home.  They don't have clothes like TJMaxx does.  They have rugs and some furniture pieces.  They have quite a few lamps in our Home Goods.  In other ways it's very similar to TJMaxx.

Love Home Goods!!

When I moved to a new area this year, I found one shopping center with Home Goods, Kirkland's and Pier 1! Holding myself back from overdecorating (is that a word?).

Re: Home Good Store question.

Our HomeGoods actually has both clothes and home. Think TJ Maxx with furniture and expanded home decor and kitchenware.

Nothing like Hobby lobby or Michael's. In fact, mine has a Hobby lobby next door to it.

Homegoods is not a craftsy type store, but offers lots of decorative items and seasonal decorations, kitchen items, gourmet foods, furniture pieces, rugs, curtain, bed and bath linens, lighting, accessories and so on.

Re: Home Good Store question.

I would never shop in a Hobby Lobby, but love Home Goods (and it's nothing like Michael's).  Since I live in MA,there are a lot of Home Goods within 30 minutes of where I live and I love them all.  Like all the TJX stores, I have found a lot of great buys over the years.  Their inventory changes so often I've learned that if you find something you like, buy it.  You can always return it if you change your mind, but if you go back a week later chances are that you won't be able to find what you saw a week ago.
