Has anyone else experienced a problem with this? My son had his account cleaned out on Monday. A small charge was put through early in the day and Monday afternoon there were three consecutive $300 charges to a Home Depot about 60 miles from him. He called the store within hours and they claimed charges could not be put through unless card swiped. On Tues bank checked and cards had been manually entered. Bank will cover these as fraudulent but as of today, Friday, the money is just being held from his account. They have not hard posted yet! I cannot believe HD could not have cancelled these on Monday, all they did was send to their loss prevention. On HD Facebook page this has happened to others. It seems to go back to prior use of cards at HD.

Lesson....best NOT to use debit cards. Use one specific credit card for all purchases and just pay bill in full each month. That way YOUR money is not at stake.

I received a letter from Pay Pal stating suspected fraudulent use of my info. I haven't used Pay Pal in years and never on e-bay. Scary!

I've been trying to learn more about this breach, and I'm not finding anything specific yet. I'm worried, though, because we did use a major cc there in April and June 2014. I'm doing my best to monitor everything, but I'm growing so tired of all of this. kitty60, Sorry this has happened to your son.

Gazelle 77, I agree with you about the debit cards. Have tried to explain that to him, but what they do is between s and dil. I use mine only at Aldi's and thought about it since Monday. I went to the bank and reduced daily limit to $100! They thought I was crazy as people always want an increase. It might me an aggravation if it was fraudulently used but it wouldn't impact me to any degree. You do have the same protections with both debit and credit cards but it messes up your bank account until it is settled.

Shopr, they are very sketchy on the details. In fact he was contacted by the Wall Street Journal through a FB post and they said they were having trouble getting info.
